David L. Smith
A Shepherd with a Kingdom Vision
Since April 26, 1992, Pastor David L. Smith has faithfully served as the Pastor of New Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. On that day, a humble, young, and Spirit-filled preacher delivered his first sermon as pastor, answering God's call to lead His people. Alongside his wife, Linda, and their three daughters, Pastor Smith embraced God's assignment to build His Kingdom and serve the New Bethlehem family with vision, purpose, and compassion.

For more than 40 years, Pastor Smith has passionately preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has dedicated his life to helping people grow in their relationship with God. A proud Houston native, he attended the College of Biblical Studies and graduated from Southern Reformed College and Seminary. His unwavering commitment to ministry and community service has earned him numerous recognitions throughout his years of faithful leadership.
Our Pastor's Mission
Pastor Smith is committed to proclaiming the truth of God's Word and believes there is one God, one faith, and one baptism. His desire is for every believer to experience the abundant life that comes through Jesus Christ—a life characterized by unconditional love, godly wisdom, spiritual maturity, and biblical understanding.
He is known for teaching Scripture in a practical and relevant way, helping individuals apply biblical principles to everyday life. His passion extends beyond the walls of the church as he works to identify and address the needs of the community, equipping people to become spiritually, socially, and economically empowered through faith in Christ.
A Heart for Community
Pastor Smith believes the Church should be a beacon of hope and transformation. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he is the Founder and President of the Houston Northeast Community Development Corporation (HNECDC), where he works alongside community partners to promote health and wellness, education, economic empowerment, and neighborhood revitalization throughout the Northeast Houston community.

Whether preaching from the pulpit, mentoring leaders, or serving the community, Pastor Smith's mission remains the same—to build disciples, strengthen families, and glorify God through faithful service.

Meet Our Lady
Lady
Linda Smith
Lady Linda Smith is a native of Smithfield, VA who surrendered her life to Christ and humbly serves his kingdom. She has been married to Pastor David L. Smith for 39+ years and is the proud mother to three lovely daughters Tamara, Crystal & Jessica. She adores her four beautiful grandchildren Jayla, Tamia, Chandler, King and Karter.

Mrs. Smith has communicated her passion for helping individuals who seek more of God. She utilizes her gifts and talents to its fullest in all areas needed. More specifically, she has taught and counseled women in many areas of praying, confessing and repenting worldly sin while renewing the mind, and applying the Bible to their personal lives. Mrs. Smith offers assistance in managing time and finances by relating these subjects to and honoring the word of God.
